Greubel Forsey GMT Balancier Convex unveils new planet-centric movement
If there's one thing Greubel Forsey loves, it's the ingenious GMT function that represents the Earth as a titanium ball. In 2021, they introduce the pinnacle of this design in the form of the GMT Quadruple Tourbillon Titanium, a truly crazy haute horlogerie, and the GMT is only a relatively small part of the whole. Now, however, they have a new model, the Greubel Forsey GMT Balancier Convex, which puts the GMT front and center.
Part of the Balancier Convex collection, the new watch features the same titanium case as the Double Balancier Convex. That means a diameter of 43.5mm (widened to 46.5mm at the bezel) and a flowing convex shape that matches the curve of the wrist. Even the sapphire crystal is curved, an incredible feat of craftsmanship. Although, since the case isn't new, it's the dial where things start to get exciting.fake watch
Titanium ball planets are placed prominently on the display, surrounded by an amphitheater with chronograph scales. The innermost ring is a 24-hour world time display, associated with some important global cities, which means that Greubel Forsey calls it a GMT watch because it is actually a world time watch, so it is Sell yourself. The middle ring with the thick red arrow is the hour scale for local time, and the outer scale with the thin arrow at the end is the minute for local time.
In addition to the focus display, the watch has a 12-hour subdial with blue-gold hands offset to one side, serving as a second time zone indicator. That sub-dial then mirrors for one second on the other side. Combined with all the features on the display, you can keep track of the time in every time zone on Earth, two of which are displayed twice. If you want to be extra silly, you can set your local time and the second time zone to be the same, which means the watch will display that time zone in three ways at the same time. replica Ulysse Nardin Blast Rainbow
It's powered by a new manual movement that Greubel Forsey says will be the signature movement for all GMT watches going forward. It has 429 parts and 59 for the escapement. Spec-wise, it has a power reserve of 72 hours and a frequency of 21,600 VpH. Of course, the balance wheel in the style of the Balancier series is inclined at 30° and seems to orbit the earth.
A lot of the movement can be seen from the dial side, and all the finishing touches are spectacular. The suspended balance wheel is held in place by black polished steel bridges on polished steel columns. The titanium bridges are then brushed to create a contrast that draws the eye to the planet at the center. Finally, the matte texture of the main dial area is very attractive, while the inner edges of the case are polished to reflect the earth from every angle.
The Greubel Forsey GMT Balancier Conveexe is also available with two straps, a titanium bracelet or a textured rubber strap. I can't imagine why you would choose rubber for a watch like this, but the choice is there.replica watches for sale
